I know it’s been a while, but let’s get right to it.
I’ve had troubles waking up lately. We recently purchased our first home, and the sleep is just too good. I’ve never heard anyone say they “got too much sleep,” but for me, there’s definitely a threshold of getting just enough sleep and entirely too much.
Remember those old analog clocks, where you could literally hear the ticking of each second passing by? We have one in our new living room and while I love the design, it makes me feel too present like I’m wasting away. Technology’s influence has made us live too fast, unaware of what time it really is. But our battery operated, analog clock reminds me that time spent is precious, it keeps me honest and present and feeling every minute of the day.
Our clock reminds me that I have one big person and two little people relying on me to show up and become the best version of who God called me to be.
Tick. Tock.
Who is counting on you to show up as the best version of yourself today?
Maybe time is running out, maybe it’s not. The only thing certain is that time is being spent, right now. How will you spend your time?
There are no refunds. No exchanges. Just today, right now. The present.
Time is an illusion that tricks us into feeling we never have enough, so we’re never fully satisfied and present, enjoying what is. Today, is the perfect opportunity to be the person God called you to be. Watch your child’s eyes light up during back to school shopping. Seize today. Pause and Breathe.
Tick. Tock.
Love and joy,
